Rion, Rion & Rion was founded by Paul W. Rion. Paul Rion was John H. Rion’s father, and Jon Paul Rion’s Grandfather. Paul Rion started his own law firm in 1938 in Dayton, Ohio and practiced law for more than 30 years. He was a frequent acting judge in the Dayton Municipal Court and set the structure for the firm, now known as Rion, Rion & Rion.
Jon Paul Rion is President of Rion, Rion & Rion. He is Board Certified in the field of criminal law and he has been continuously listed in the Best Lawyers in America. He has tried in excess of one hundred (100) felony jury trials, including capitol cases and is a former president and Board of Director of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as and a lifetime member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Jon Paul Rion has practiced in thirty one (31) states, and his firm of seven lawyers, based in Dayton, Ohio enjoys a national reputation. John H. Rion is Board Certified in the field of criminal law and he has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America since 1983. He is the former president of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, has served for two terms as Chairman of the Criminal Justice Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association, and has tried more than 300 felony jury trials, including capital cases.
He is admitted to the Ohio State Bar, US District Court for Southern District of Ohio, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.View Resume
Kevin received his Bachelors of Liberal Studies from Bowling Green State University in 1983 and his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University in 1987. Kevin was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 1987 and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2000. Mr. Lennen has been an associate with Rion, Rion & Rion, L.P.A., Inc. since 1993. Kevin has also practiced Pro Hac Vice in nine other states including Indiana and Michigan. His specialty lies in criminal defense and family law litigation with a focus in sexually oriented defenses. With almost thirty years of experience, Kevin continues to successfully fight for his clients through hearings and jury trials.
Nicole received her Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University in 2003 and her J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2006. Nicole was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in November of 2006. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, as well as the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Nicole has been an active member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2007 and regularly attends seminars and events through OACDL. Nicole has worked as an associate for Rion, Rion & Rion since 2007. She serves as the firm's lead counsel for all appeals and post-conviction petitions and has won many appeals all over the state of Ohio. Nicole also handles custody, family law and criminal law matters on a daily basis.
Kyle received his B.A. from Miami University in 2006 and his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2009. Kyle was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 2009 and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in 2010. Kyle’s focus is on OVI defense, criminal defense and family law litigation. He has been a member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2013. Kyle receives annual training and education in OVI litigation from the nation’s top lawyers and speakers on all aspects of winning OVI trials. He has been an active member of the Dayton Bar Association Inn of Court since 2015. Kyle has handled numerous criminal jury trials and family law trials in order to protect the rights of his clients. Motion hearings and jury trials are crucial to the practice and Kyle continues to achieve great results for his clients through his knowledgeable and aggressive courtroom defense.
Brad Anderson graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree (with departmental honors and Phi Beta Kappa) from The College of Wooster in 1988. After working as a legislative aide in the Ohio House of Representatives, he attended the University of Michigan Law School and graduated in December 1992. He was then commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force and served on active duty as a judge advocate (JAG) for eight years, primarily prosecuting and defending courts-martial while stationed at Dover AFB, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, and Wright-Patterson AFB. Among his military awards and decorations are the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Overseas Tour Ribbon, and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Prior to joining Rion, Rion & Rion, L.P.A., Inc. in 2010, Brad Anderson practiced complex civil litigation, criminal defense, and personal injury law at two other Dayton-area firms. Brad specializes in litigating wrongful death, personal injury, probate, and business litigation cases and has worked sucessfully to bring justice to our clients and their families in their time of need.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Christian directly worked in information technology, the fire and emergency medical services industry and started his own businesses. He has brought this ground-level expertise to his practice at Rion, Rion & Rion. Christian received his B.A. from Marquette University in 2009 and his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2014. He is admitted to practice law in Ohio as well as federal court, both District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. Christian is a member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and DUI Defense Lawyers Association. He also an active member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Federal Bar Association and Dayton Bar Association. He currently serves as a Co-Chair of the Bar Exam & Qualification Sub-Committee charged with evaluating the character and fitness of those who apply for legal licensure in the state of Ohio.
Not only does Christian practice law on a full-time basis for the Firm, but he also actively works in the Fire Service. Christian is a certified professional firefighter and certified paramedic, both the national and state levels. His background and technical expertise adds to the depth of knowledge that is found at the Firm and brings new perspectives, particularly to criminal cases. Christian has been with the Firm since March of 2015 and handles all aspects of criminal and civil litigation in both state and federal court.
